WMSWCD Receives Grant to Attack Garlic Mustard

WMSWCD and its local partners just received $22,470 by the Oregon
Garlic Mustard
Department of Agriculture and Oregon State Weed Board to control 170 acres of highly invasive garlic mustard in Multnomah County! Garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata) is a noxious weed, native to Eurasia, and poses a great threat to our native woodland understory species. This plant dominates deciduous and mixed canopy forest floors displacing most native species - leading to reduced diversity and decreased wildlife forage. WMSWCD and its partners offer FREE treatment throughout the entire District - please contact mary@wmswcd.org  if you have spotted this invader!
